ZIMMERMAN HAS STOOD AT THE BAR OF JUSTICE AND HAS PREVAILED!

One of the fundamental reasons that a Bill of Rights was pushed through and ratified to become part of the U.S. Constitution in 1791 was the fundamental belief that politicians would deprive unpopular people of their liberties when it became politically popular to do so. We need not worry about popular people or popular ideas being prosecuted or suppressed. Unpopular people and ideas are those who are in need of protection in our great republican form of government.

So goes George Zimmerman. He is initially cleared after a thorough investigation by law enforcement. Then political pressure is brought to bear and charges are filed. A duly impaneled jury hears all the evidence and unanimously clears him of wrongdoing. Now the vicious mobs across the country exercise political pressure and demand more “justice.” They don’t want justice, they just want what they want. Some even want the jurors executed.

Who is the criminal here? The man who was cleared initially by law enforcement, the man who was cleared by a jury who heard all the evidence, or those who want vengeance, not justice, those who want our political leaders to bend to their will, notwithstanding the law, the Constitution, and our great system of justice? Shame on them all.
